Thank you for you interest in becoming a First Aider this standard operating procedure has been created by the British Health Service to help you understand your role and the regulations around the role. This S.O.P must be followed failing to do so will result in removal of your certification along with possible diciplinary action from your department and even legal action being taken against you.
As a first aider you will have very limited equipment these being IFAK packs which contain bandages, painkillers and temporary tourniquets. These items can be handed to an injured person for them to apply to themself so they are in a stable enough state to get them to the hospital for thier injuries to be treated. If a person is flatbacked you can perform CPR through the medical system to get them back on their feet.
For treating patients most of your actions will be done in RP via /me actions. Below you will see some example actions you can use.
/me cleans hands and puts on gloves
/me checks pulse (If unconscious)
/me Examines Injuries
/me Applies pressure to wound (for bleeding injuries)
/me Cleans wound
/me Applies Bandage to wound
If the patient is flatbacked perform CPR via the medical system to get their pulse back. If/when the patient is conscious hand them bandages and painkillers so they can stabalise themselfs and give them a temp tourniquet to apply if they are bleeding from limbs. After this you should get the patient to the hospital as soon as possible. Remember consent is everything always gain consent before treating unless the patient is unconscious in which case consent is assumed and remember to verbaly communicate what you are doing so they are aware of your actions.
Always try to contact Health Service personel for instruction before commencing treatment.
Never treat people or yourself if Health Service is available unless they instruct you to do so.

Never treat a patient who has refused consent this is assault and you will be arrested.
Never carry out actions outside of your purview for example you should not be removing embeded objects or performing any medical procedures other than Basic Life support.
Never put yourself or your patient in danger.
As a Tactical/Field Medic you will be able to carry out a more advanced level of treatment for those needing it. You will be equipt with an EMS Bag which will contain all the equipment you need to carry out your duties. You must follow this S.O.P any failure to follow this document or abuse of equipment will result in removal of your certification, diciplary action from your department and possible legal consequences.
You will be provided with an EMS bag which will contain your equipment. The list belows shows the only equipment you are authorised to use. Using equiptment outside of your purview will result in removal of all medical Authority. Repeated misuse of Equipment may result in your departments Medical Certification being removed and all medical equipment taken back.Â

Elastic Bandages
Quick Clot
Packing Bandages
Tourniquets
Sewing Kit
Splints
Emergency Revive Kit (Only to be used in extream circumstances for example someone is bugged and you cant patch them up)
You ARE NOT AUTHORISED to give any intravenous medications this includes Morphine, Epinephrine, Propofol, Blood Packs and Saline.
During your classroom training we will teach you exactly how to treat injuries. remember to Always use your /me's and please refer to the treatment section of the First Aid S.O.P for further information.
